摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maximize responsiveness after the requirements for restart are satisfied by further improving fuel consumption while well maintaining the re-startability of an engine. SOLUTION: An ECU changes over an automatic transmission mechanism from a drive state to a neutral state at a prescribed timing after that satisfaction and before the stoppage of supply of fuel when the requirements for automatic stop are satisfied while the vehicle is running. When the automatic stoppage of the engine is determined based on the detected results of a crank angle sensor and the predicted rotational speed of a turbine is determined, based on the predicted results of the ECU 2, to be lower than a prescribed effect rotational speed at which the crankshaft of the engine is rotated by a reverse drive force from a wheel side, the ECU changes over the automatic transmission mechanism from the neutral state to the drive state.
