<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating apparatus which can efficiently utilize light in the case of supplying light having nearly uniform intensity distribution by using a plurality of light sources, and also, which can be miniaturized, to provide an image display apparatus and a projector using the illuminating apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with the plurality of light source parts 11, 12, 13 and 14 for supplying the light, a uniformizing part 120 for making the intensity distribution of the light emitted from the plurality of light source parts 11, 12, 13 and 14 nearly uniform, light guide parts 101, 102, 103 and 104 arranged in the light source parts 11, 12, 13 and 14, respectively, so as to guide the light emitted from the light source parts 11, 12, 13 and 14 to the uniformizing part 120, and at least one of the plurality of light source parts 11, 12, 13 and 14 is arranged in parallel to the uniformizing part 120. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
