PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fastening mechanism for fittings having reliable and good operability. SOLUTION: The fastening mechanism has an engagement receiving member 2 mounted to a meeting style 11 of a left slat 10 of a horizontally sliding shutter 1, and an engaging member 3 mounted to a meeting style 13 of a right slat 12. The engagement receiving member 2 has a pivoted part 20 pivoted to a pedestal 4; an energizing part 21 for energizing the pivoted part 20; facing free ends 22, 23 and an opening 24 opened between the free ends 22, 23 formed on one face side 2F; and an operating part 25 formed on the other face side 2f'. The engaging member 3 has a pivoted part 30; an energizing part 31 for energizing the pivoted part 30; a body part 32 and a base end part 33 formed on one face side 3F, with the body part 32 located in the opening 34 and with the base end part 33 located between the free ends 22, 23 when engaged with the engagement receiving member 2; and an operating part 34 formed on the other face side 3F'.
