PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition for injection, containing an antitumor agent paclitaxel as an active ingredient, and exhibiting improved stability and safety, and prolonged validity term. SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical composition comprises an effective amount of paclitaxel, a polyoxymethylated ricinus oil, an alcohol and an aqueous solution for injection and is added with a sufficient amount of CO<SB>2</SB>in the composition. The pharmaceutical composition for injection comprises a sufficient amount of paclitaxel which is dissolved in the polyoxymethylated ricinus oil, an alcohol and an aqueous solution for injection. An sufficient amount of CO<SB>2</SB>is added to stabilize paclitaxel in a pharmaceutical composition for injection and to obtain a pharmaceutical composition of about pH 5.0.
