An intraocular lens (10) has an optic (12) made of a foldable material and at least two haptics (14) integrally formed with the optic. The optic comprises an optical element (18) with optical power, a transition region (20) disposed around the entire perimeter of the optical element, and a support (22) disposed about at least a portion of the transition region, the thickness of the support (ts) being greater than the thickness of the transition region (te). The transition region advantageously has a thickness of between at least about 0.07 mm and about 0.40 mm. |
