摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a scalability in an AWG network by deriving the number of optimum arrangement couplers to minimize the total number of transceivers, while satisfying a given delay restricting condition. <P>SOLUTION: A calculation method is provided, by which the number of the optimum arrangement couplers to minimize the total number of the required transceivers is calculated within a range to satisfy a permission packet transfer delay time which is given from a given traffic amount in a network with a structure for connecting a plurality of nodes to an AWG after aggregation by the couplers in an AWG single hop WDM network with a MAN for using the AWG for a hub node as an object. The minimum value of an FSR for satisfying given permission average packet transfer delay and the maximum number of storable nodes in the case are obtained.
