PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head in which deterioration in ejection characteristics due to bonding gap of a nozzle plate can be prevented and stabilized ejection characteristics can be sustained by suppressing residual vibration of pressure wave. SOLUTION: The ink jet head comprises a piezoelectric substrate 1 in which a plurality of elongated channels 4 are formed, and a nozzle plate 25 being bonded such that a plurality of nozzle holes 23 corresponding to the channels 4 are located substantially in the center of the channel 4. Trench-like recesses 24A and 24B extending, with predetermined width and depth, in the direction intersecting the longitudinal direction perpendicularly are formed in the nozzle plate 25 at positions spaced apart equally from the nozzle hole 23 along the longitudinal direction of the channel 4. A gap for interconnecting adjacent channels 4 is formed between the upper end face of the channel wall 4a and the surface of the nozzle plate 25 spaced apart equally from the nozzle hole 23, and active regions contributive to ink ejection in each channel 4 are defined on the opposite sides of the nozzle holes 23 along the longitudinal direction of the channel 4.
