<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal authentication device by vein, which is capable of applying to a personal digital assistance without being externally provided with a device such as a housing and a guide. <P>SOLUTION: This personal authentication device includes a light emitting diode 23 emitting a light with a predetermine wavelength, a band-pass filter 22 transmitting only the light with the predetermined wavelength, a display screen 2 displaying an image imaging the light transmitted through the band-pass filter 22 by a camera on a screen, and a guide shape 31 guiding and displaying the position and distance of the image. This constitution can provide the personal authentication device by vein without being externally provided with the device such as the housing and the guide.
