<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a primer set and a probe for detecting the polymorphism relating to the metabolic ability of CYP2C8, a drug metabolism enzyme, and the testing agent and the testing method that including these primer set and probe, thus detecting the gene polymorphism of the drug metabolism enzyme, before paclitaxel is given, to know the suitable doses for individual patients thereby avoiding the serious side-effect. <P>SOLUTION: The gene polymorphism relating to the metabolic ability of a drug metabolism enzyme, CYP2C8, can be detected by utilizing the primer set, probe, testing agents including the same and the testing method. The abnormality of the drug metabolism is judged based on the detected gene polymorphism and paclitaxel is administered in an amount according to the CYP2C8 metabolic activity of individual patients and the side effect of paclitaxel can be avoided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
