PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetoresistance effect element and its manufacturing method which improves the heat withstanding property and avoids deterioration of output characteristics. SOLUTION: The magnetoresistance effect element comprises a magnetization free layer 17 made of a ferromagnetic material, a magnetization fixed layer 15 having a grain boundary made of a ferromagnetic material, a first nonmagnetic layer 16 between the magnetization free layer and the magnetization fixed layer, and an antiferromagnetic layer 14 on the opposite surface to the first nonmagnetic layer surface of the magnetization fixed layer. The magnetization fixed layer has elements segregating in the grain boundary to so act as to prevent the constitution material from diffusing in the antiferromagnetic layer.
