PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for electric insulation that has excellent curing properties and air-drying properties, has a good holding rate of an insulation breakage electric voltage on heat deterioration, good adhesion power to electric wire and can cope with the environment, and a method for producing insulated equipment by using the resin composition for electric insulationl. SOLUTION: The resin composition comprises, as essential materials, (A) a low molecular weight polyester-imide, (B) a low-molecule modified unsaturated epoxy ester resin prepared by allowing an epoxy compound bearing one or more epoxy groups in one molecule to react with anα,β-unsaturated monobasic acid to form an unsaturated epoxy ester resin and allowing 2 to 10 mole% of unsaturated acid anhydride to react with the hydroxyl group in the resultant unsaturated epoxy ester resin, (C) a surface reforming agent. In this method for producing insulated electric equipment, the resin composition for electric insulation and electric equipment are coated with the resin composition for electric insulation and the coated resin is cured.
