PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device with a chain restraining guide capable of realizing low noise by achieving smooth disengagement to suppress a variation in the speed of a transmission chain. SOLUTION: The sprocket teeth 122 of a sprocket 120 comprise tooth faces on the front and rear surface sides in the rotating direction facing each other continuously with the bottom thereof. A distance between a virtual reference line x connecting the rotating center of the sprocket 120 to the center of the sprocket teeth 122 and the tooth faces at least on the front side of the sprocket teeth 122 in the rotating direction is formed equal to or larger than the pitch circle portion of the sprocket at the addendum side portion of the pitch circle thereof.
