PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature regulating device for an internal combustion engine widely controlling heat quantity collected to cooling water with a simple structure. SOLUTION: This temperature regulating device for the engine is provided with a cylinder block 12 having a water jacket 21 formed around a bore wall 110, a water jacket spacer 25 arranged in the water jacket 21 and forming a variable space 28 at a position in the water jacket 21 adjoining the bore wall 110, and actuators 31, 32 moving the water jacket spacer 25 to vary volume of the variable space 28 with keeping volume of the water jacket 21.
