PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate packaging method capable of packing a glass substrate with a film face such as a color filter for a large liquid crystal display formed thereon in a compact manner, and preventing the film surface side from being damaged, and to provide a glass substrate packing body capable of performing the safe conveyance of the glass substrate. SOLUTION: In the glass substrate packing method in which glass substrates in an erected state overlap in the horizontal direction and are packed, and a protective sheet is inserted and used as a cushioning material between the glass substrate film face side with a color film or the like formed thereon and the glass substrate back side, the protective sheet 2 has a very weak adhesive side on one surface and a non-adhesive side on the other surface, the very weak adhesive side of the protective sheet is affixed to the glass substrate back side, and the glass substrate film face side overlaps the non-adhesive side of the protective sheet 2.
