PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material which requires a small amount of material to use, certainly prevents damaging of a sheet material, and facilitates carrying of the sheet material, and to provide a packaging method using the same. SOLUTION: The packaging material 10 consists of a flexible band portion 13 which is so attached that the end of the band potion 13 located on the side of the side end face 11a of the fixture 11 is matched to the side end face 11a, or is made to project outside the side end face 11a, along the front face or bottom face of the side end face 11a portion of the fixture 11, and an end face protective part 14 which is composed of a projecting line attached along the side end face 11a of the fixture 11. The packaging material 10 is made of a corrugated board, and is so attached that the corrugated shape of the core 15 of the corrugated board appears on the longitudinal end face of the packaging material 10. The packaging material 10 is attached on both side edges of the fixture 11 covered with a vinyl bag 12, and respective packaging materials 10 attached on the fixture 11 and the vinyl bag 12 are fixed with an adhesive tape 16.
