PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a paper from floating up to a recording head side of a recording medium regardless of the recording medium condition even in an ink-jet recorder equipped with a large recording head. SOLUTION: A recording medium is conveyed to the position where inks are stuck to the recording medium by an ink-jet recording means using a roller coming in contact with an ink-droplet sticking surface side of the recording medium and two or more conveying roller pairs which are arranged so as to be more deviated than an opposite roller toward a recording means side of the recording medium conveying direction. The conveyed recording medium is supported by a platen in the position opposite to the ink-jet recording means. The platen is arranged between the ink-jet recording means and a nip section formed by the roller pair in the recording medium conveying direction. The platen is provided with a projection arranged so as to come into contact with the back face of the sheet conveyed from the roller pair and a flat section slightly lower than the projection and keeping the spacing with the recording means uniformly in opposition to the ink-jet recording means.
