PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily improve the flatness of an end face of an electrode and realize the consistent grinding quantity without being affected by the skill of a worker. SOLUTION: An electrode 16 is inserted in an electrode insertion hole 12b in a tool body 12, and the tool body 12 is fixed to the electrode 16 by a clamp 14 while a tip part 16a of the electrode 16 inserted in the electrode insertion hole 12 is projected from a flat part by the predetermined length L. The flatness and the grinding quantity of the end of the electrode can be consistently ensured so that the end face of the electrode tip part 16a is flush to a flat part 12a of the tool body 12. According to the method, the flatness of the end face of the electrode 16 is easily improved, and the grinding quantity is consistently ensured, and the labor required for the maintenance of a resistance welding equipment can be reduced.
