DETECTION AND ANALYSIS SYSTEM FOR PROTEIN ARRAY

[PROBLEMS] To provide a method comprising immobilizing a protein on a protein array substrate at a high density under regulating the orientation, irradiating the immobilized protein with ultraviolet light, visible light or infrared light, measuring the light not absorbed by the protein to thereby detect the protein on the substrate and further analyzing an interaction between the protein on the substrate and another protein and/or a compound other than proteins and an apparatus therefor, and to provide a protein array suitable for the above-described system. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A system for detecting and analyzing a protein on a protein array and/or a compound other than proteins interacting with an immobilized protein which comprises a protein array having a protein aligned and immobilized at a high density on an optically transparent substrate, a light irradiation means and a light detection means, wherein the protein array is irradiated with light by the light irradiation means and the light penetrating through the protein array is detected by the light detection means to thereby measure the light absorption by the protein on the array and/or a compound other than proteins interacting with an immobilized protein, thus detecting and analyzing the protein on the protein array and/or the compound other than proteins.
