<p>A collection vessel (2) is partially filled with fluid (13). A tubular separator (10) contained in the vessel, projects into the fluid, dividing the vessel into inner- and outer regions (11, 12). The section immersed in fluid has openings (18) connecting the regions. A suction line (3) is connected to the inner region (11) and suction equipment is connected to the outer region (12). The suction line cross section is considerably smaller than that of the inner region. The cross sectional areas of the inner and outer regions are in the ratio 2:1 to 1:2, preferably 1.5:1 to 1:1.5. The tubular separator is open at its base and spaced above the base (14) of the collection vessel. The section of the separator above the fluid level, has a closed circumferential surface. The suction line terminates at a cover inside the collection vessel. The cover connection with the separator is airtight. On an upper annular section of the separator, and above the fluid, there is an outward projection (21). Holders (22) distributed around the separator, are fitted onto the collection vessel. Openings in the tubular separator have a diameter of 1-2 mm, preferably about 1.5 mm. The fluid is water. Inside the collection vessel a sensor (24) monitors the fluid level.</p> |
