LIGHT GUIDE PLATE AND BACKLIGHT MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate used in a liquid crystal display and a backlight module in order to solve problems of difficulty in processing and a high cost of a conventional technology.

SOLUTION: The light guide plate comprises both incident faces, outgoing faces which are surfaces at the upper most and adjoin both the incident faces, and reflecting faces which are opposed to the outgoing faces and have a plurality of fine structures. The plurality of fine structures have their axes of symmetry at the center at the same distance from both the incident faces and become smaller in size and the density of arrangement from the center toward the incident faces. A part of light from the light guide source enters from both the incident faces to the light guide plate and is reflected by the fine structures of the reflecting face and emitted in the direction perpendicular to the outgoing face. A backlight module utilizing the light guide plate is also provided.
