PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building member including a solar energy converter.

SOLUTION: This building member 14 such as a roofing material and window glass or a building facade member includes a fluorescence collection device 16 provided with a base 10 and particles 30 dispersed in the base to absorb light 12 from a plurality of directions and emit absorbed light. The fluorescence collection device has opposing faces 18, 20 and a connection face 24 between the opposing faces. The solar energy converter 32 is constituted to receive light emitted from the fluorescence collection device.
