<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vessel lid for preventing tea, hot water, or soups in a vessel from spilling out to the outside by vibration or the like in transportation. <P>SOLUTION: The vessel lid has a flange 3 mounted on the rim 2a of the vessel 2 and having a fixed width, is formed with a lid surface 5 recessed from the flange 3 through the peripheral edge portion 4 making a sliding contact with the inner peripheral surface of the opening portion of the vessel and having a predetermined width, is provided with a cylindrical protruded portion 6 at the center part of the lid surface 5, is formed with a cylindrical space portion 7 on the inside of the protruded portion 6, and bored with a small hole 8 at the top surface for making the inside pressure escape. The upper surface of the cylindrical protruded portion 6 and the upper surface of the flange 3 are made in substantially flush with each other, or the upper surface of the cylindrical protruded portion 6 is made higher than the upper surface of the flange 3, and the cylindrical space portion 7 is made into a curved surface without a corner on the inside.
