<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging tray which raises no possibility that such fruits 6 as melons relatively heavy with large roughness stored in the adjacent recesses do not interfere with one another when stored one by one in each recess, and can softly support the surfaces of the fruits 6 to prevent frictional damage to the surfaces of the fruits, and to block a degradation in quality of them due to transport. <P>SOLUTION: A pulp mold tray 1 having a series of fruit storage recesses 2 is produced by making paper so that the roughness of the internal face 1b of each recess 2 is large and the roughness of the external face 1a is small and then the paper is dried.
