PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output only a required multiplied wave signal by amply suppressing unwanted harmonic components. SOLUTION: The balanced type frequency multiplier is provided with a signal distributor for distributing an input signal into two systems, and a signal synthesizer 5 for synthesizing the signals of the two systems through non-linear circuits so that a phase difference becomes 180°. The signal synthesizer 5 is provided with first and second top open type combined lines 53, 54 of which the electrical length is about 1/4 wavelength at the wavelength of required multiplied frequency, and open stubs 55, 56 having an electrical length of about 1/4 wavelength at the wavelength of about 1/2 the required multiplied frequency are connected to the open terminals of their output side lines 53b, 54b.
