PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer composition for agricultural covering films that excel in heat retaining property, transparency and toughness, and to provide agricultural covering films consisting of it. SOLUTION: The ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer composition for agricultural covering films contains 0-50 pts.wt. of a modified polyolefin resin (C) based on 100 pts.wt. of a mixture containing an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (A), which has a melt flow rate of 0.3-20 g/10 min measured according to JIS K 6924-1 (1997) and a vinyl acetate residue content of 3-30 wt% measured according to JIS K 6924-1 (1997), and a layered clay mineral (B) in a formulation weight ratio (A)/(B) of 98/2-50/50.
