PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging apparatus for packaging a lighting fixture with its body and cover overlapping each other, which packaging apparatus positions and holds the body and cover firmly with a buffering material and an outer packaging material, and has a simpler structure to reduce cost. SOLUTION: Each of the buffering material 31 and the outer packaging material 32 is made from a rectangular sheet of corrugated board. The buffering material 31 consists of end protecting portions 35, a pair of side holding portions 36 for both sides of the lighting fixture, and inner side supporting portions 37. The side holding portions 36 sandwich and hold the body 11 from outside. The inner supporting portions 37 are arranged between the body 11 and the cover 12, and inside the cover 12 and supported by a lamp socket 23, where the inner supporting portions 37 prevent the body 11 from coming in contact with the cover 12 and positions the cover 12 widthwise.
