<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely obtain satisfactory density gradation characteristics when developing an image with light toner and dark toner in the same color. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus develops an image with light toner and dark toner in the same color. In the image forming apparatus, when the highest density and halftone density of a light toner image formed with the light toner are different from ideal values as a result of control exerted to determine the gradation characteristics of the light toner, a mixing initiation area corresponding to the ideal state of the dark toner in relation to the light toner is shifted in the direction of high light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
