<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for releasing a core material involved in a microcapsule by heating and cooling the microcapsule repeatedly, namely, by applying a heat history to the microcapsule, in a comparatively narrow temperature range even if physical or chemical high pressure or high temperature is not applied to the microcapsule. <P>SOLUTION: The microcapsule in which a mixture of a compound A to be released deliberately with another compound B having a phase transition point at its melting point Tb°C is involved, is given the heat history in the temperature range including the melting point (Ta+b°C) of the core material consisting of the mixture of the compound A with the compound B.
