PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that conventionally, a polycarbosilane fiber is irradiated with radiation in air to oxidize only the surface, the surface of the fiber is crosslinked, an uncrosslinked part at the central part of the fiber is extracted with an organic solvent to give a hollow fiber, the hollow fiber is burned in an inert gas to give a micro SiC tube, however, a ceramic tube having ≤10 μm wall thickness is difficult to produce.
SOLUTION: The method for producing a micro silicon carbide ceramic tube having ≤5 μm wall thickness comprises oxidizing and crosslinking only the surface of a polymer blend fiber composed of a polycarbosilane and a polyvinylsilane by ionizing radiation, extracting the uncrosslinked part of the central part of the fiber with an organic solvent to give a hollow fiber and burning the hollow fiber in an inert gas.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
