PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image which does not degrade various other characteristics and does to emit such a malodor that a person feels as an offensive odor, and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The toner is characterized in that the odor index value calculated from the odor threshold of the aliphatic acid in the toner on the basis of the content of the aliphatic acid measured by gas chromatography is≤2, and the method of manufacturing the toner by an emulsion polymerization flocculation method is characterized by using a latex of≤30 in peroxide number of the emulsion polymerization latex prior to the flocculation.
