PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance gyroscopic sensor which accurately determines the relative direction of a mobile unit even when it is inclined and a reliable navigation system which improves the accuracy of detecting the present position of the mobile unit by using the gyroscopic sensor. SOLUTION: The navigation system comprises a GPS receiving section 1 for receiving GPS radio waves, the gyroscopic sensor 2 for detecting the relative direction of an own vehicle by outputting a rotation angle, a vehicle speed sensor 3 for calculating a travel distance, an inclination sensor 20, and a rotation angle correction section 21. The inclination sensor 20 determines an inclination angleθof a traveling vehicle. The rotation angle correction section 21, on the basis of the inclination angleθ, corrects the rotation angle output by the gyroscopic sensor 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
