PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a sheet shaped body of a desired solid shape which is excellent in design nature without making a decorative sheet produce wrinkles by extending the decorative sheet uniformly and making the decorative sheet closely contact with the surface of a male mold when the solid shaping of the decorative sheet is carried out. SOLUTION: A decorative sheet 11 is extended by making the barometric pressure of the side of a front surface 11a of the heated decorative sheet 11 lower than that of the side of a rear surface 11b. After that, while an arm means 29 is advanced from the side of the rear surface 11b of the decorative sheet 11 and is made abut onto the rim of the decorative sheet 11 and supports the decorative sheet 11, the barometric pressure of the side of the surface 11a of the decorative sheet 11 is made higher than that of the side of the rear surface 11b, and the decorative sheet 11 is inverted. After that, while carrying out the pressing of a sheet molding male die 27 from the side of the rear surface 11b of the decorative sheet 11, the retreating of the arm means 29 and the relative raising of the barometric pressure of the side of the surface 11a of the decoration sheet 11 are performed, the decorative sheet 11 is set over the surface of the sheet molding male die 27, and the solid shaping is carried out.
