A control unit for a heater with three separate controllable heating circuits (HK1-3) comprises five switches and a control (15) for 1,2 or 3 heating combinations. There are switches between the supply voltage poles (S1-3) and (S4,5) respectively and the circuits connect directly or indirectly to the poles in the required combinations. An independent claim is also included for a control process for the above.
