A motor vehicle passenger protection airbag module device comprises a diffuser (4) having two telescopic tubes (6,8) with radial outflow openings (7,9) which are open for the inflation of the airbag. A passenger protection device for a motor vehicle having an airbag module comprises a folded inflatable airbag (5) with gas generator (3) and diffusers (4) arranged behind a wall region with a cover plate over the wall exit opening which is liftable on activating the airbag. The diffuser comprises at least two telescopic tubes (6,8), extendable in the opening directions, at least one of which has radial outflow openings (7,9) which are covered or open for the inflation of the surrounding airbag. |
