[Also in Division Bl] A gas-permeable floor for a silo for homogenizing powdered and granular material is constituted by a plurality of rectangular bottomless boxes, having sheet steel sides 1 and gas-permeable tops 3, which are pushed down into wet concrete 8 laid over gas supply pipes 6 having upstanding discharge nozzles 9. The gas-permeable tops 3 which may be of ceramic base material 50 mm. thick, may be cast into the boxes, being retained by beads 2 and reinforced by bars 4 which also reinforce the sides of the boxes. The gas-permeable material may alternatively be a metal or plastics base material or a fabric of natural or synthetic fibre. |
