<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which has a developing device, a toner storage container, and a toner transport device, the developing device and toner storage container being arranged individually removably from an image forming apparatus body, the image forming apparatus in which toner scattering is prevented by keeping the toner concentration in a developer storage section constant in initial driving of the toner carrying device in which no toner is present in the toner carrying device. <P>SOLUTION: Before the initial driving (before shipment) of the toner transport device 50BK in which no toner is present, a carrier 36 is retained beforehand at a prescribed position in a toner transport path to such an extent that toner does not flow in a developer storage portion 27 of the developing device 12BK from a toner bottle 32BK. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
