<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer whereby head registration adjustment and the like adjustment, and setting of a paper size, a paper kind, a printing mode, a head paper interval and the like can be simply, quickly and correctly carried out without passed through a PC also in the stand-alone usage such as digital camera direct printing. <P>SOLUTION: The recorder consists of a paper feeder, a paper send part, a paper discharge part, a carriage part, a cleaning part, a recording head and an electric part. As shown in Fig. 6, indices 80 and 81 are set at a carriage 50 and in its vicinity.
