<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium having little adhesion of dregs on a thermal head and little abrasion of the thermal head, and excellent head matching characteristics even when a recording is performed by using a high thermal energy. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal recording medium, in which a thermal recording layer comprising a leuco dye and a coloring agent, and a protective layer having pigments and an adhesive as main components are successively provided on a substrate, is characterized by that as the pigments in the protective layer, at least one kind of kaolin or aluminum hydroxide is incorporated as a main pigment, and in addition, a calcined kaolin and a colloidal silica are incorporated, and the calcined kaolin is used with a ratio of 0.3-5 mass% to the whole solid content in the protective layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
