ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANE-ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY FOR SOLID FUEL CELL, AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly for a solid fuel cell applicable to a direct methanol fuel cell, capable of readily providing high output at a low cost, and to provide its manufacturing method.

SOLUTION: This electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly for a solid fuel cell comprises sandwiching an electrode membrane containing a proton-conducting polymer electrolyte between the anode electrode, having a catalyst layer and the cathode electrode having a catalyst layer. The electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly is characterized in that the catalyst layer of the anode electrode and that of the cathode electrode comprises two or more layers and is formed by simultaneous multilayer coating method.
