<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure communication quality and to reduce power consumption, in a radio communication device having a PLL synthesizer which makes the PLL synthesizer active each time when intermittently communicating with a base station. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 6 allows an RSSI measurement section 12 to measure a reception radio wave level from the base station, and a PLL synthesizer 10 is set to a normal lock mode from the next communication slot to ensure communication quality in a low reception level environment that is at a setting value or smaller to a memory 5. Contrarily, in a high reception level environment that is higher than the setting value, a change to a high-speed lock mode is made once in the next communication slot. And reception BER is measured at a BER measurement section 13, returning to the normal lock mode is made to ensure the communication quality in a high BER environment that is larger than the setting value to the memory 5, and the high-speed lock mode is held to reduce a time for turning on power for saving power in a low BER environment that is at the setting value or smaller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
