TERAHERTZ ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE GENERATOR

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a teraheltz electromagnetic wave generator of high efficiency having a high output and a wide band.

SOLUTION: An energy gap of a radiation antenna material is made to be 1.42 eV or more provided in LT-GaAs to enhance a breakdown voltage of a photoconductive element for detection and to enhance a breakdown voltage, and a laser wavelength shorter than 800nm is used conformed to the material. An applied voltage is brought thereby into 15 V or more, and a laser beam intensity is brought thereby into 15 mW or more to emit an electromagnetic wave.
