COMMUNICATION TERMINAL DEVICE AND IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve visibility of a fine portion and a character or the like even when the image size of a moving image to be reproduced is greater than the display size of the display device of a portable terminal.

SOLUTION: A separating section 103 separates an image and audio from multiplexed data in accordance with a file format. An image decoding section 108 decodes compressed image signals. A memory 109 stores the decoded image data. A display area determining section 110 determines which portion is to be segmented and displayed among the entire decoded image from information of the decoded image size and the display size. A memory control section 111 computes the address of the area to be displayed and conducts processing for reading for the memory 109 into which a decoded image is stored. A display buffer 112 stores the read image data for display under the control of the memory control section 111. A monitor 114 displays the data.
