PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a side handle, which has antivibration characteristic and safety, and a portable tool having the side handle. SOLUTION: The side handle 6 has a fixing part 8 mounted to a tool body, an elastic body 10 fastened to the fixing part 8, a grip part 9 fastened to the counter side of the fixing part 8 of the elastic body 10, a flexible safety member 11 for coupling the fixing part 8 with the grip part 9. The fixing part 8 and the grip part 9 are made of a resin which can be molded by injection. A locking member 12 protruded from the outer periphery of the safety member 11 is fixedly provided to both ends of the safety member 11.
