PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable type steering device capable of preventing the deterioration of steering feeling in the case when a steering torque is inputted by operating a steering wheel in the cable type steering device equipped with a tension adjusting means. SOLUTION: In the cable type steering device, a damper device 23 is oscillatably connected with a tension adjusting device 16 which is oscillatably abutted to a pair of inner cables 7b, 8b, and directly imparts the tension so as to hold a set predetermined tension (setting tension). The damper device 23 generates a damping force relative to the oscillation in the arrow B direction (tension releasing direction) of the tension adjusting device 15 in the case when the tension of the pair of inner cables 7b, 8b increases compared with a set tension by a steering torque inputted into the steering wheel.
