PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PTT (polytrimethylene terephthalate)brush bristle material having irregularities of 1 to 12μm formed in its tapered pointed section and offering flexibility and high powder-cosmetic trapping property equivalent to those of natural animal hairs. SOLUTION: A PTT mono filament is treated with an alcaline solution such as sodium hydroxide, etc., containing amine catalyst. Accordingly, the tip end part of the mono filament is tapered and the very fine irregularities are formed, so as to obtain the brush bristle material to be used for a cosmetic brush or a toothbrush.
