PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the emission of a carbon dioxide gas as a global warming gas to the atmosphere when an internal gas is replaced in a hydrogen-cooled power generator. SOLUTION: The internal gas replacing method of the power generator is provided with a hydrogen gas supplying route 20 for supplying a hydrogen gas to the hydrogen-cooled power generator 1, an air supplying route 30 for supplying air, a carbon dioxide gas supplying route 40 for supplying a carbon dioxide gas, an air/hydrogen gas exhausting route 50 for emitting air or hydrogen gas to the atmosphere, a carbon dioxide recovering tank 70 for recovering the carbon dioxide gas exhausted from the power generator, and a carbon dioxide recovering route 60 for recovering the carbon dioxide gas within the power generator to the carbon dioxide gas recovering tank. When the carbon dioxide gas used during a gas replacement from an air filled state to a hydrogen gas filled state within the power generator or a gas replacement from the hydrogen gas filled state to the air filled state is exhausted from the power generator, the carbon dioxide gas is recovered to the carbon dioxide gas recovering tank.
