The method involves using a controller with a microprocessor which controls a door control panel via a PID controller and controls a motor via a control parameter (U). The control parameter is limited to a value (Limit) which is not to be exceeded so as to limit the maximum closure force after an initial acceleration phase in which the door is accelerated from rest to a desired speed (vsoll). The limit value is less than the 100 per cent maximum control parameter value, e.g. 60 to 80 per cent of the maximum value. The control parameter can be the speed or the displacement of the door. |
