<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a registration system of a portable unit in which the security performance is improved by prohibiting a portable unit of a third person already registered in a vehicle from registering the ID in another vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The registration system includes an in-vehicle Smart Unit 10a, having an eigen Smart ID (a) corresponding to the vehicle, in which the portable unit IDs A, B can be registered, and portable units 20A, 20B, having the eigen portable unit IDs A, B, in which the Smart ID (a) can be registered. When the portable unit ID of a portable unit is registered, the Smart ID (a) of its own is registered in the portable unit. Only when the portable unit having the portable unit ID registered in the Smart Unit 10a is detected, the Smart Unit 10a allows the vehicle to be locked or unlocked.
