The invention relates to a caliper (1) for a motor vehicle disk brake, which, as a combined brake caliper (1) is suitable for both operational braking and parking braking. The brake caliper (1) comprises a cylinder bore (3) which is sealed on one side by means of a piston (2) which can be displaced in order to actuate the brake; a shaft (14) for mechanical brake actuation and which is rotationally mounted on the same axis as the cylinder bore (3) inside the brake caliper (1); a ramp device (11) having a first ramp element (12) which is fixed to the brake caliper and a second ramp element (13) which can be rotated in relation thereto; and an adjustment device (30) whose length can be adjusted in the direction of the actuation of the brake and which is arranged between the ramp device (11) and the piston (2). In order to simplify the structure of the brake caliper and to simplify the production and mounting thereof, the cylinder bore (3) - which is embodied as a continuous bore opposite the piston (2) is sealed by a support plate (6) which is fixed to the brake caliper (1). As a result, the brake caliper can be machined more easily and it is easier to mount the individual components of the brake caliper (1).
