<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic composition in which shrinkage caused by firing is suppressed, thus dimensional precision can be increased, and whose sintering at low temperature is possible, and to provide a flat panel type display using the same as a spacer. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the ceramic, a powdery mixture comprising glass with a mean particle diameter of ≤5 μm. at least one kind of metal selected from Si, Zn, Al, Sn, Cu and Mg, and TiO<SB>2</SB>is molded, and is thereafter fired in such a manner that the above specified metal(s) is oxidized, so as to expand the volume thereof, thus its shrinkage caused by firing is suppressed, and the ceramic is used as a spacer 1 in a flat panel type display 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
